GEO Content Checker — frequently asked questions
How is this different from the GEO Audit Tool?
The GEO Audit Tool inspects a published page's HTML, so it sees technical signals — schema markup, canonical tags, viewport, heading tags. The Content Checker scores the writing itself: structure, statistics, sources, quotes, readability and keyword density. Use the audit for a live page's technical setup, and the content checker for the prose, either pasted as a draft or pulled from a URL.
Is my content uploaded anywhere?
Text you paste is scored entirely in your browser and never leaves your device, which makes the tool safe for unpublished drafts and client work. If you instead use the URL mode, that address is sent through our server to fetch the page — the resulting text is still scored in your browser, and neither the URL nor the content is stored.
What keyword density should I target?
The checker passes a target keyword between 0.5% and 3% of total words. Below that the topic may read as unfocused; above it starts to look like keyword stuffing, which both search and AI engines discount.
