- Yes. It detects a sitemap index and lists the child sitemaps it references. It also finds sitemaps declared in robots.txt, and falls back to the common locations /sitemap.xml, /sitemap_index.xml and /sitemap/sitemap.xml.

- It lists every URL in the sitemap, then checks a sample of the first 20 for status codes to keep the check fast. Results are labelled OK, Redirect, Broken or Error.
