GEO Audit Tool — frequently asked questions

What does the GEO Audit Tool check?

It scores a live URL against 15 weighted checks that influence whether AI engines cite a page: title and meta description length, structured data, a single H1, subheadings, content depth (600+ words), concrete statistics, outbound sources, quotes, lists, FAQ or question headings, short direct answers, mobile viewport, canonical URL and average sentence length.

What is a good GEO score?

75 and above is rated excellent, 50–74 good, and below 50 needs work. The score is the share of weighted checks passed, so heavier checks — structured data, content depth, statistics — move it most.

Why did my page fail the statistics check?

The check looks for concrete figures such as percentages, counts, currency amounts or magnitudes like 'million'. Pages that make only qualitative claims fail it. This matters because language models preferentially quote sentences containing specific numbers — a claim with a figure attached is far more citable than one without.

Does a low score mean my page will not be cited?

No. The score measures on-page signals that correlate with citability, not the ranking systems themselves — which are proprietary and change. Treat it as a prioritized checklist of fixable issues rather than a prediction.
